QC Corner
Hello there, I’m Pete, head of Quality Control at Newport Cannabis Company (NCC).
When I tell people what I do for a living, I usually get a grin or a knowing laugh. “So… you just sit around and smoke weed all day?” they ask. I wish it were that simple.
In truth, quality control in cannabis is serious business, and it touches every part of what we do. From the moment our plants start growing to the time a product ends up in your hands, my job is to make sure it’s safe, effective, and downright enjoyable.
We don’t just grow cannabis, we craft experiences. And that requires passion, science, and a whole lot of care.
What Goes Into Great Cannabis? Science, Standards & Soul
One of the most important tools we rely on is state-certified lab testing. Every product we sell is tested to ensure it’s free of microbes like mold or bacteria, and doesn’t contain any harmful residues like heavy metals or synthetic pesticides. (By the way, we don’t use inorganic pesticides, period.)
But we don’t stop at safety. Testing also tells us which cannabinoids and terpenes are present in every batch. Cannabis has over 100 cannabinoids, and while THC gets the spotlight, it’s actually the interaction between different compounds that shapes your experience. Whether you’re looking for deep relaxation, creative energy, or something in between, those chemical profiles matter—and we pay close attention.
Taste. Aroma. Burn. Vibe.
We want our products to do more than “work.” We want them to feel good, taste amazing, and hit just right.
That gummy or chocolate should taste as good as it feels.
Your pre-roll should burn evenly and deliver a smooth, satisfying smoke.
Every vape or resin should capture the essence of the flower, flavorful, full-bodied, and never too harsh.
From the cultivation rooms to the packaging tables, we sweat the details so you don’t have to.
Your experience matters. That’s why we actively research how our products are received. Your feedback helps guide how we grow, process, and refine. Quality isn’t a one-time thing; it’s a continuous process of listening, learning, and leveling up.
At NCC, we’re not just growing cannabis. We’re curating connection, care, and quality so that every product delivers the best possible experience for you.
Thanks for trusting us with your journey. We’re just getting started.
